Great news for public testers and developers, as Apple provided sixth betas of iOS 18.1, macOS Sequoia 15.1, and iPadOS 18.1 on October 7, 2024. They can now continue to test the amazing Apple Intelligence features. The respective fifth and second builds came out on September 23, while the fourth and first respective builds were introduced on September 17.

The Apple operating systems iOS 18.1 and 18 have a major difference due to Apple Intelligence, which includes generative AI and machine learning features. However, when it is released, some features of Apple Intelligence might not be available.

Developers have the choice to stick to the standard beta or the new beta with Apple Intelligence. To access the Apple Intelligence features, users are still required to have an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, or an iPad or Mac powered by an Apple Silicon chip.

As for the latest Apple Intelligence, some features are available like enhanced Siri, along with tools that can summarize text, transcribe audio recordings, and even help eliminate distractions, like unwanted photo bombers, from your pictures.

The writing tools have Text Rewrite which will transform your email drafts into a more polished, professional format. You can also adjust the tone to make it friendlier or more concise, depending on your needs. One of the standout features of Apple Intelligence is its ability to create summaries for various types of content, like emails, web articles, and documents. For instance, by clicking the “Summarize” button in Safari, you can receive a concise three-sentence summary of a 1,200-word article.

Upgrades with new Siri will show up as a colorful ring around the edges of your screen, and on Mac, you can place Siri anywhere on your desktop. You’ll have the option to type your questions to Siri instead of speaking them. Safari will automatically transcribe audio recordings, including when different people speak. Records phone calls and transcribes them into notes.

Features that will be available for testing in the near future will include Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT integration, the option to erase objects in photos, Priority Notifications, and other ‌Siri‌ capabilities.
