How to Unblock a Contact on iPhone Using the Settings App?

This is the most convenient and simple method to remove the restrictions from a number as you can find the complete list of previously blocked numbers, which makes it easier to find an old contact. For this, you need to follow the given steps:

1. First, head to the Settings app of your iPhone > scroll down > select anyone from the Phone, Messages, or FaceTime, here, it’s shown with the Phone option.

   

2. Now, scroll down, locate the Blocked Contacts option, and tap on it. 

   

3. Then, a list of currently blocked numbers will be displayed on the screen. Hit the Edit button from the top right corner. 

   

4. After that, a red circle with a line at the center will appear next to each number. Tap on it beside the required number. 

   

5. Lastly, select the Unblock button. 

   

And the process is over. Now you can receive and make calls to the person as before.

Tips

You can also directly swipe left on the number instead of tapping on the Edit and red circle to enable the Unblock button. 

How to Unblock a Number on an iPhone Using the Phone App?

If you’ve recently blocked a number to stop incoming calls from that person, you can easily find it in your recent call logs. And to unblock him/her, you can continue with the given 2-step process:

1. Head to the Phone app of your device and in the Recents section, locate the number that you want to unlock. Tap on the info icon given in front of it. 

   

2. Then, on the next slide, select the Unblock this Caller option from the bottom.

   

FYI

You can’t delete the blocked contacts on your iPhone directly, and can clear the list only by unblocking all the numbers.

How to Unblock a Phone Number on iPhone Using the FaceTime App?

You can also use the FaceTime app on your iPhone to remove the calling and messaging restrictions from a number. For this, you can continue with the given method:

1. First, open the FaceTime app, scroll through the list of recent calls, locate the number you want to unblock, and hit the info icon in front of it.

   

2. On the next page, tap on the Unblock this Caller. 

   

Now, you’ll start receiving and can make calls to the respective number. 

How to Unblock Contact on iPhone Using the Message App?

If you’ve blocked someone’s number due to their irritating or useless messages but now want to unblock them, here is the process that you may follow to do so:

1. First, navigate to the Message app and open the conversation with the person who you want to unblock. 

   

2. Then, tap on the Profile icon (either the person’s photo or the grey icon).
