According to the leaked rumor, Apple is expected to release the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4-powered chip at the end of October.

Interestingly, Apple’s MacBook Pro M4 may be capable of supporting two displays when the lid is open. However, the current M3 and M3 Pro follow only one display supporter.

If the reported leak from YouTube proves correct, the newly released Apple M4-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro will support three Thunderbolt 4 ports. This would mean that it supports the two external displays based on the resolution (up to 6K) and (up to 60Hz) of each external display.

According to Macrumors leaked report:

M3 Pro MacBook Pro:

Supports up to two external displays:

  • Two 6K displays at 60Hz over Thunderbolt, or
  • One 6K display at 60Hz over Thunderbolt and one 4K display at 144Hz over HDMI

M3 Max MacBook Pro:

Supports up to four external displays:

  • Three 6K displays at 60Hz over Thunderbolt and one 4K display at 144Hz over HDMI, or
  • Two 6K displays at 60Hz over Thunderbolt and one 8K display at 60Hz over HDMI, or
  • Two 6K displays at 60Hz over Thunderbolt and one 4K display at 240Hz over HDMI

Additional features for both M3 Pro and M3 Max:

  • Native DisplayPort over USB-C support
  • HDMI port supports either:
  • One 8K display at 60Hz, or
  • One 4K display at 240Hz

However, Apple did not announce any legitimate information about the release of the M4-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro. There is also no reliable information about the two external display supporters. Another rumor also revealed that Apple is changing its release time to November.
