Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition’s buyers complain about the yellow discoloration issue at the bottom of the display.
Dozens of customers were disappointed with the Amazon Kindle Colorsoft and complained about the same issue. They either returned the Amazon product or replaced the defaulted one with a new one. However, the situation resulted in down ratings (2.6 stars) of Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition.
Moreover, one Reddit user posted that the Kindle “is supposed to be evenly lit and colored like a piece of paper.” Many users revealed that Amazon Colorsoft Kindle costs $279.99 and is not worth it.
Amazon spokesperson, Jill Tornifoglio confirmed the statement reported by The Verge:
“We’re aware of a small number of reports from customers who see a yellow band along the bottom of the display. We take the quality of our products seriously and are looking into it. If customers notice this on their device, they can reach out to our customer service team.”
Therefore, it is not clear whether the actual problem is related to hardware or software. Several users stated that the yellow tinge is noticed when the software update is done and many reported that it occurs before the update.
Furthermore, some people exclaimed that yellow discoloration is not tolerating while reading. While other people said that the issue is not noticeable. Amazon is delaying the shipment of the Colorsoft Kindle until November 15 or 19 due to the issue. It is expected that the company is working on fixing the issue before the worldwide launch.
