Another update for the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea was rolled out by Samsung this January 2025, indicating a delay in the expected Stable One UI 7 launch. This latest update is based on One UI 6.1, focusing on improving security, and comes in at just under 400 MB.
The new January 2025 update for the Galaxy S24 lineup features a PDA build version that concludes with AXL 3. It has just been released in South Korea and its availability in other countries is expected soon.
Initially, the January 2025 patch was part of the One UI 7 Beta 3 update for the Galaxy S24 series. The build versions were designated as AXL 1 for standard users whereas AXL 2 for Verizon customers in the United States.

Earlier this month, Samsung mentioned the content of its January 2025 update which includes over 50 fixes for vulnerabilities, adding patches from both Google as well as Samsung.
Google has addressed 5 major and 24 high-severity Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). One CV was already resolved, while two others are not applicable. Samsung contributes its own fixes, addressing 22 Security Common Vulnerabilities (SVEs) that affect components such as the Messages app, Sound Picker, Bootloader and Notification Manager.
Samsung has been conducting the One UI 7 Beta Program since early December 2024. It has already released three Beta updates so fate and the 4th one is on the horizon. The official launch for Beat 4 is just around the corner and the date scheduled for the same is January 22 in the US.
Samsung is expected to announce a potential rollout schedule for compatible Galaxy devices in the US. This second incremental firmware update indicates that Samsung is still fine-tuning the major firmware, which is not yet ready for a public rollout.
