Intel announced the launch of a new desktop CPU, led by the flagship Core Ultra 200S processor (codenamed Arrow Lake) which will arrive on 24 October. It is acclaimed Intel is delivering the first CPU with a built-in NPU (Neural Processing Unit), new chipset design, and updated manufacturing technologies to focus on AI PCs.
According to The Verge report, the new Arrow Lake architecture is designed to draw less power from the chips, compared to the 13th and 14th Gen Intel processors.
“Arrow Lake will deliver Intel’s best performance for enthusiasts in desktop and mobile,” says Josh Newman, general manager and VP of product marketing client computing. “It will deliver that performance at significantly lower power levels than previous generations of Intel enthusiast products, and Arrow Lake is also delivering the first Intel AI PC for enthusiasts in both the desktop and mobile performance space.”
Intel also claims that the Core Ultra 9 285K will drop 13C temperature during gaming at 1080p. The Core Ultra 200S processor has come with 3D packaging technology and Intel reduced 33% percent size than 14Gen chips. Moreover, the flagship Ultra 9 285K has 24 cores, 24 threads, and a boost clock of 5.7GHz. Intel also focuses on improving memory 200S series and Z890 motherboards.
Intel’s new flagship Core Ultra 200S processor chips will be available at different prices including a $589 Core Ultra 9 285K, a $394 Core Ultra 7 265K, and the $309 Core Ultra 5 245K. Additionally, Intel offers KF variants- Ultra 7 265KF ($379) and Ultra 5 245KF ($294) without the built-in GPU.
