Get Ready For iOS 18.4: April Release And Rumored Feature List

In a report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, it has been mentioned that Apple is gearing up to launch iOS 18.4 in April. The best testing phase for this update has not started yet, however, there are several anticipated features that users can look forward to with the upcoming release. 

There are some major enhancements to Siri, this spring, Apple is expected to launch three substantial upgrades to Siri. This will mark a major step towards integrating Apple Intelligence into the functionality of the assistant. 

The enhancements that will be included are personal context awareness, on-screen situational understanding as well as enhanced capability to interact with applications. These improvements will allow Siri to gain a deeper understanding of individual users, and their situations and to perform tasks on their behalf more effectively. 

Expanded language support with Apple Intelligence will also be there. When 18.2 was launched, Apple revealed its plans for Artificial Intelligence to add additional languages starting in April 2025 and it would be continued throughout the year. 

While the specifications regarding the languages are yet to be introduced, Apple did outline its intentions to support a wide range of languages by 2025, including: “In April, a software update will enhance language support, with further additions expected throughout the year. Supported languages will include Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and others.”

In recent years, Apple has consistently added new emojis with its spring iOS updates, and this year also it is likely to follow suit. The Unicode Consortium has already revealed the new emoji, and it now depends on Apple to include them in the system. 

The new emojis that will be added this year include, Harp, Face with bags under eyes, Fingerprint, Leafless Tree, Shovel, Root Vegetable, and Splatter.
