OnePlus 13 is set to launch globally in January 2025 after its release in China. An official statement unveiled that the flagship lacks the Qi2 charging, though it supports MagSafe charging like Apple’s iPhones.
In addition to OnePlus 13 upgrade features, it comes in three different colors, a Snapdragon 8 Elite 3 Gen 3 chipset, and a handful of hardware changes. The latest smartphone revamped its design with a flat display, Android 15 OS, and 50 megapixels across each with a main camera, telephoto, and ultrawide. It also has a front camera with 39 megapixels.
However, the Wireless Power Consortium listing confirms that the OnePlus 13 global variant will use Qi 1.3.3 specs instead of Qi2. This hints that the One Plus flagship will not have built-in magnets to support wireless charging alignment and accessories. After all, this is not required in the Qi2 standard.
Alongside a phone launch, OnePlus introduced magnetic charging accessories. These cases have magnetic rings that are compatible with the OnePlus 13 for wireless charging. Rather than maintaining the built-in magnets, the organization opts for new technology.
Additionally, Oppo offers Mag cases similar to OnePlus, which allows them to support other MagSafe and Qi2 accessories. So, the HMD Skyline Android smartphones remain in the line of Qi2 with the Apple updated iPhones.
All the while, nothing is apparently confirmed about the OnePlus 13 and its MagSafe charging. The extensive release of the OnePlus 13 will readily disclose aspects and features. It is guaranteed that the OnePlus 13 will launch shortly.
