The tech giant is here to unveil its latest thinner version of Galaxy Z Fold 6. The launch date for the special edition gadget is expected to be October 25, according to media reports. It is rumored to feature a slimmer body, a bigger screen, and a much better camera. Samsung has been reportedly working long on this version to include the improvements over the standard model.
On top of that, the company is widely expected to hold an event, probably an online one, to reveal its latest flagship smartphone. As per the facts, this is supposed to be the slimmest foldable smartphone from the Korean company to date. Samsung intends to dispel the preconceived notions of consumers that it can’t make foldable phones thin enough. They aim to demonstrate to the global community that they are capable of delivering thin, durable, and high-spec foldable smartphones.
So, the device is anticipated to be strong and might feature an IP48 dust and water resistance rating as the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The smartphone has also been reported to have Galaxy AI capabilities. Renders also reveal that the smartphone has three cameras and a flat frame with curved corners. The popular tipster Evan Blass gave a glimpse at the cameras of the new foldable.
Coming to the overall thickness of the phone, it is expected to measure 4.9 mm around the waist when unfolded. When unfolded, the phone will be 10.6 mm thick. This is a pretty significant improvement over the previous version.
Notably, Samsung has reportedly increased the size of the cover screen from 6.3 inches (16 cm) on the Z Fold 6 to 6.5 inches (16.51 cm) on the Special Edition.
Samsung for many years used to be the leader in folding phones, but now the increased competition from global brands like Huawei, Honor, Motorola, and OPPO has taken the throne from the company. Now these notable improvements from Samsung might increase its share in the market again.
