Whether it’s a rumor or not, leaked images of Nintendo’s new Switch 2 are circulating on social media. Fans anticipating an early release and an improved design still doubt if these are verified photos of the original ones.
The image shows an 8-inch screen, magnetic joy-cons, and USB-C ports on top and bottom that are not too different from the current ones. Apparently, these images first appeared on Reddit from an anonymous user who had been briefed about the Nintendo Switch 2 design.
As per the images, Nintendo Switch 2 will include 12GB of RAM (the earlier version had 4GB), support for HDMI 2.1, and 256GB of internal storage (instead of 32GB), which matches an alleged shipping leak earlier this year.
If we go by the images shown online, they have similar controllers to the current ones, with some notable changes, such as revised SL/SR buttons and front-facing player LEDs. This information is in line with previous announcements made by Nintendo for a new magnetic attachment for its controllers.
Sources also claim that the more premium OLED might be replaced by an LCD screen to reduce the cost. A Chinese peripheral maker has also speculated that the Switch 2 handheld will support 1080p resolution and the new dock might support 4k resolution.
While the online images are unverified, it has definitely increased the excitement of Nintendo fans as they are expecting a premium model with an efficient control for a stronger gaming experience.
